Participants Needed
Are you Black African and have you dropped out of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the NHS earlier than planned?
I am looking for participants to speak to me about their experiences of undergoing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
I am particularly interested in exploring any factors that may have led you to drop out of treatment early.
Take part in a maximum one-hour online interview for a new study to discuss your experiences.
Who am I?
I am an accredited CBT therapist currently completing a Master's degree in CBT at the University of Hertfordshire.
As part of my degree, I am conducting the research outlined on this page.
I am conducting research to explore what factors may be contributing towards Black African people dropping out of CBT treatment early.
The aim of the research is to understand what we could be doing differently to improve the experience of CBT treatment for people of Black African origin.

You will be asked to take part in a one hour interview with me over video call to talk about your experiences.
What is the research?
Who can take part?
You can take part if:
1. Your ethnicity is Black African
2. You are aged between 25 and 45
3. You have had at least 1 CBT treatment session with the NHS
4. You permanently live in the UK
5. You have been discharged from mental health services for at least 1 year
6. You are currently not experiencing significant mental health difficulties
I am not looking for ‘experts’ on the topic, and I am really interested to hear your thoughts and experiences. You will not be judged or personally analysed in any way and you will be treated with respect.
